My cousin gifted me my first Tarot deck in college, but I didn't take it too seriously. It was one of those beginner Rider Waite decks with the upright and reversed meanings printed on the cards. At the time, I couldn't resonate fully with the cards as they didn't relate to my life with archaic (and sometimes scary) looking figures featuring mostly old white men.
I did eventually buy my first deck - The Halloween Tarot - and it was such a joy to experience both the art and the magic of the cards, especially since Halloween is my favorite holiday!

Flash forward, I've graduated college and landed a job cross country in Los Angeles, where I had never been before. Unfortunately, I had been fired almost two months later. Without knowing anyone and not knowing where to go, I ended up booking an energy healing session, because, it was cheaper than a therapist. It was one of the first times I felt energy moving in my body, helping me deal with unresolved trauma and moving energy blocks that had been there long ago.
